Pushing the Boundaries of Data Applications: Push.ai + dbt Labs Semantic Layer
With the dbt Semantic Layer integration, Push.ai will integrate all the metrics and dimensions teams have defined automatically, allowing onboarding to take seconds, not weeks or months like traditional data tools. Teams unlock access to next generation data applications, allowing everyone at their company access to data they need.
Today, we're unveiling our integration with the dbt Labs Semantic Layer. When we started Push, we were fascinated by metrics layers and the opportunities that defining metrics in code presented everyone in a business. With centralized metric definitions, data teams could be confident in the accuracy of their data wherever it was delivered and the rest of the business could more easily self-serve because they had agreed on measurements over time they could use for decision making. If teams could implement a Semantic Layer, they could all speak the same language much more fluently.
We see semantic layers bringing us beyond the table stakes promise of accuracy. These standards open up the opportunity for more specialized, downstream tools to be built using metrics definitions as their core platform. Think of how much better it’d be to have an application that knew the whole context of a business and focused on solving specific problems. Teams could have specialized tools that project sales next month, predict churn, or send alerts around a decrease in site CVR, all off of a data warehouse. These ideas inspired us to build Push with the next generation of data applications and the dbt Semantic Layer is a platform on which we can make this a reality.
With our dbt Semantic Layer integration, Push will integrate all the metrics and dimensions teams have defined automatically, allowing onboarding to take seconds, not weeks or months like traditional data tools.
What Does This Mean for Your Team?
1. Unparalleled, Instant Access: After connecting your Semantic Layer service account, Push is will fetch every metric and dimension you've modeled. From there, teams will get full access to the creating reports, receiving automated insights and setting goals against their metrics.
2. Reporting Made Simple: With the dbt Labs Semantic Layer and Push, your metrics no longer remain confined to dashboards. Schedule automated reports with the metrics and dimensions you want, then receive them right in your Slack or Microsoft Teams channels and direct messages.
3. Automated Insights: Push provides automated analysis on top of metrics and dimensions, crawling through all the combination to identify historical trends and patterns. This ensures that you're receiving the updates and insights you need to take action.
4. Projections and Goals: The metric definitions in the Semantic Layer allow Push to automatically create projections on every metric across every dimension, giving you a peek into potential future trends. This allow you to stay a step ahead and ensure that you achieve your goals.
5. Tailor-Made Data Distribution: We understand that every team is unique. Push allows personalized report customization, ensuring that the data you and your teams receive is tuned to everyone’s preferences.
Getting Started with the Integration
Teams can get started instantly. No more spending hours building charts and dashboards so that an image can get sent to Slack. Instead, set up your first report in minutes, letting our platform handle the intricacies of calculations, algorithms and distribution.
In our commitment to democratizing data access and understanding, this integration is a significant milestone. Teaming up with dbt Labs Semantic Layer reflects our shared vision of a world where establishing key metrics and dimensions will drive all your data applications.
Feel free to share your feedback and experiences with this new feature. As always, we're eager to listen and evolve based on your needs.
